How this idea came to me
I'm currently rebuilding the collections page on my website from it's current library catalogue view to become more interactive. I thought it would be fun to have a little choose your own adventure game.
But I don't want my collections page to just be my recommendations to website visitors. I'd love to get recommendations too. I'm always on the lookout for books, comics and music recommendations and I thought it would be fun to have a website that would let me put out what I'm looking for and let curators help me find it.
I think it could also work as a wishlist. But instead of a specific item that you want, it's more general (like a pair of leather boots or a genre of books).
Build progress
I'm starting with the landing page to gauge interest and start collecting recommendations.
My current search
- magic/medieval fantasy comics
- non-linear storylines
- stories about practical magic
- physical copies of my favourite media (DVD, CD, books)
