🌸 Set design
I recently completed a two-day Set Design Essentials course from NIDA Open and it was probably one of the best learning experiences I've ever had.
How I design
I start every design from the message I want an audience to carry out of the theatre, then explore the possibilities of how far that idea can be extended into physical, visual form.
I look for connections between a story's elements, weaving subtle details into a single structure that draws an audience into its world, unfolding into moments of delight.
Concept set designs
To build my skills, confidence and portfolio in set design, I aim to design 1 new set for a play/concept each week. I built Practice Call to help me quick get initial ideas out of my mind and onto the page. Here are some of the concept designs that I have created:
