🌿 Building and being part of a community

Sep 02, 2026 | 1 min read

Everybody is building a community now. I think I noticed the trend starting after the pandemic with the rise of run clubs. Now, there more and more niche gatherings around your favourite hobbies. I've even started my own - Project 0!

Some open questions I'm still thinking about/working through:

  • I strongly believe that community is built in the rhythms, in the people who keep showing up. With so many options around us, how do we determine which communities are worth showing up for?
  • Communities seem to be the word that encapsulate a group gathering of any kind that can take a range of different forms. But my favourite are the kind where you're encouraged to show up and contribute, where your input matters as well as your presence. What makes somebody open to sharing in a community?
  • How are communities embracing the fact that we're social creatures, inviting us back into the real world?
